Day 65

Urban Jungle Slouch Beanie design by Vickie Howell at Yarnspirations.(previously known as Caron.com)

This FREE pattern can be found HERE.

I made this hat ages ago. So long ago I lost it by now. :(. Regardless. I’ve remade this hat numerous times since. This is one of my favorite slouchy beanie patterns!  I Love how it used something other than the usual double crochet method for the beanie!  I used alpaca for this certain hat pictured, so it’s very fuzzy and it makes the stiches undefined and almost felt like in appearance.

Day 61

Desert Hope Slouch Beanie design by Simply Collectible Crochet.

This FREE pattern can be found HERE

I get car sick really easy so everytime we travel I crochet to distract myself. This trip was a half hour trip. I finished all but one row of this hat in that trip. My fault. Coffee break. It was easy to read and follow. It took me no time at all to make and I love how you stitch between the double crochets. It makes a really neat looking texture when finished.

Day 43: Salty Sailor AntiSlouch Hat

My husband came to me with a pretty specific order. He’s a Capricorn for those of you who know your astrology. So yes, detail oriented with perfectionist undertones. He wanted, no poms, not a slouch hat, no brim with a hat bill, no stripes, different color brim with texture, crown not textured, among many other requests along the way. It took me a long time to write. Sigh. I love yah honey 😉

Now I did make it a slouch beanie too. It can be worn both ways if you really want to!

I know he said no slouch, but how could you not love the versatility of a two in one hat!?!?!?

Day26

Perfect Purple Slouchy Hat by The Hippy Hooker.

2015/01/img_2399.jpg

The FREE pattern can be found here.

I know it’s not purple 😦 but it’s just as perfect. I used Isaac Mizrahi’s new yarn!! It came out in no time. I’m so addicted to bulky yarn now it’s insane!! This was another on the fly project I made. I needed a black and shimmery hat for a mini road trip :). Took me about a half hour to make with a baby in my lap sleeping! I am going to make another soon. Probably purple this time XD

P.S. Stay tuned for the “scarfie” pattern. Psst it’s going to be FREE 😉

Skein softening tutorial:

Red heart has always been my favorite. It’s so versatile and it has so many colors to chose from. It is perfect for kids and babies because of its ability to be infinitely washed over and over as well as its amazing durability. It’s no lie that it’s not softest yarn, But there is hope! Check out this awesome yarn softening tutorial HERE by A Girl And Her Needle. You don’t even have to undo the skein to do it!!!! Did I mention you don’t need to make a project to soften the yarn!?!?!?!?!!

Granny slouch Beanie (child size) Pattern review

Part two of the hat parade it seems. I needed a child size hat for my oldest son to wear. He is a spunky active little kid who loves board shorts and skate shoes. So I knew a slouchy beanie was the way to go for my little dude. Stitch11 has a great free pattern. The granny Slouch Beanie. I made the child size.

The cool thing about this pattern is that is comes in almost every size! I am definitely going to make myself one and a toddler size one in green for when my youngest son is old enough.
