I’m obsessed with the show Amish Mafia. I grew up in Pennsylvania. In a city. Just a short distance from Lancaster where the show takes place. I grew up around Amish culture. A few of my classmates were children of shunned Amish. And our local public high school football games would draw Amish teens in by the dozens. Such nice people. But very secretive. Wink wink. I noticed how popular black Amish style hats were becoming these days. I had to design a crocheted one(yes I already have an authentic one I betrayed PA and had one sent from Indiana).
If only I could get some Hand Pies and Sweet bread shipped that would be great!!!!
Anyway here is my Amish inspired hat pattern.

I’m glad you asked! It’s an authentic Amish puzzle game. My parents live near amish country and they sell these there. The Amish children do :). The goal it to get the pieces to come apart. I haven’t figured it out

Your Amish hat sounds interesting! I am in the process of crocheting a brimmed hat out of 350 lbs. paracord. Just after seeing this pattern I am going to tear what I have out and use this pattern. I will have to use a larger size hook, like a K. Any tips for me?

My major issue when I crochet is tension. I use very tight tension and my brims tend to tune out wobbly when I do so I would just make sure you watch your tension. Also spray starch is amazing if you need to stiffen the brim too!
